Our Story

Welcome to Taggs Hockey, where we're not just rewriting the playbook; we're revolutionizing the game. Nestled in the heart of southern Ontario, our story is one filled with passion, dedication, and a commitment to making high-performance hockey sticks accessible to all.

At the heart of Taggs Hockey stand Dan and Taylor, a couple with a shared love for the game. Dan, a product of the iconic southern Ontario rinks where he, alongside his older brother, forged a deep connection with the sport. Dan's hockey journey traces a path from competitive rep hockey to Jr. B, all the while harboring dreams of reaching the prestigious OHL or College Hockey in the USA. Although an ECHL camp ultimately marked the pinnacle of his playing career, it ignited a passion for hockey equipment, particularly sticks. 

During his hockey career, Dan pursued studies in mechanical engineering, robotics, and automation, delving into the realms of manufacturing, materials, and efficiencies within factories. This unique blend of on-ice experience and academic studies equipped Dan with a deep understanding of the materials and manufacturing processes. On top of that, Dan has over 8 years of expertise in the sporting goods industry and has helped many players master their shot as a shooting coach. 

In 2018, Dan met Taylor. Taylor grew up in southeastern Ontario surrounded by family members immersed in the sport. She started playing hockey at the age of 5 and with two brothers and a father who all loved hockey, she was always in a rink. Beyond her hockey roots, Taylor, now a Registered Dietitian, brings a wealth of experience in marketing and design to the table. Together, Dan and Taylor have two young boys who they hope will share an equal love for the game. 

In 2022, Dan and Taylor embarked on a shared mission to redefine the hockey stick industry. Fueled by their collective passion and expertise, they envisioned a brand that could bring affordable high-performance sticks to the market. Thus, Taggs Hockey was born.
